IBYC 2019 : Youth For Christ

The Indonesian Baptist Youth Conference (IBYC) is a conference of Baptist young people throughout Indonesia, which aims to improve the quality of faith, inspire enthusiasm to carry out the Great Commission, develop talents by sharing experiences with young people in accordance with their interests, occupations and fields of study.

This time IBYC 2019 was held at Maranatha Christian University, Bandung from June 20 to June 24, 2019. IBYC 2019 was held for the second time after IBYC 2016 which was held in Yogyakarta. This year the theme of “Youth For Christ” taken from Philippians 1: 21 instills the value of 4C, namely Calling, Christ Likeness-Character, Commission, and Celebration.

This event involved a thousand baptism youths who participated, Bandung BPD youth as the organizer, BPN GGBI – through the Department of Youth – as the steering committee. In this event, twenty-five speakers from various fields also attended, and specifically involved priests as speakers in each worship session and in general, pastors who acted as facilitators and counselors. Many young talents are also involved in taking part in the ministry. Starting from the event leader, praise guide, musician to singers.

After returning from this event participants are expected to socialize Indonesia’s multi-discipleship program. Participants are also expected to have no doubts about using talents given by God, being able to renew their faith and hear their calling especially in serving. In addition, participants can also establish relationships between National Baptist youths.
